Abstract

La cartografia è lo strumento deputato alla descrizione del territorio che riferisce di una situazione relativa allo specifico periodo nel quale viene prodotta: carte realizzate in periodi diversi, se omogenee dal punto di vista del sistema di riferimento, possono essere fatte interagire, allo scopo di dare una descrizione multitemporale del territorio, alla ricerca di dinamiche evolutive, con riferimento all’ambito della espansione urbanistica, delle caratterizzazioni idrauliche/idrologiche e delle tematiche inerenti l’evoluzione del paesaggio. L’omogeneizzazione dei sistemi di riferimento nei quali sono inquadrate le cartografie, che preclude ad una rigorosa coregistrazione di supporti cartografici di periodi e fonti diverse, è operazione fondamentale nel processo di analisi multitemporale. In questo lavoro viene presentata un’esperienza indirizzata alla realizzazione di una cartografia raster storica unitaria degli Stati Sardi di Terraferma alla scala 1:50.000 a partire dalle scansioni digitali dei singoli fogli fornite dall’Istituto Geografico Militare.
