Abstract

Lo studio della ceramica si basa sul materiale rinvenuto nel corso delle ricerche condotte dalla Missione Archeologica Italiana del Centro Scavi di Torino nell’area di Tūlūl al-Baqarat durante le stagioni 2013 e 2015-20191. La ceramica analizzata proviene da raccolte di superficie sui principali tell di Tūlūl alBaqarat (TB1, TB2, TB4, TB5, TB6, TB7, TB8, TB9, TB10; missioni 2013, 2015, 2018) così come da sondaggi stratigrafici su TB1 e TB4 (2013, 2015-2019) e scavi in estensione su TB7 (2015-2019). A questi assemblaggi ceramici si aggiunge anche la ceramica raccolta nel corso dei sopralluoghi effettuati dalla missione italiana nei siti individuati nell’area attorno a Tūlūl al-Baqarat nel corso del 2016 (T1-T22). Lo studio dei complessi ceramici rinvenuti durante tali attività permette una prima definizione dell’arco cronologico in cui si situano le diverse fasi di insediamento dell’area che allo stato attuale delle ricerche sembra essere stata abitata in modo continuativo almeno a partire dalla fine del V millennio – inizi del Iv millennio a.C. al periodo islamico.
