Abstract

Abstract IT. Abstract EN. Despite being a young discipline, Digital Philology can already count on a history full of interesting developments, particularly with regard to the evolution of Digital Scholarly Editions, which are its main product. One of the most significant phenomena, the migration of DSEs from their dissemination via optical media to direct publication on the Web, has resulted in changes in perspective that are still ongoing and underlie important future developments. This article will briefly introduce the history of the discipline and then move on to outline the new features and methodological innovations that will be introduced during the next few years. Special attention will be paid to the implementation of such features in EVT (Edition Visualization Technology), a software for publishing and browsing digital editions.
