Abstract

Farmacologia generale presenta una trattazione essenziale di tutti gli argomenti utili per comprendere i meccanismi molecolari alla base del funzionamento dei farmaci e i principali fattori che contribuiscono a definire il razionale del loro impiego clinico, gli effetti terapeutici e tossicologici e la variabilità nella risposta al trattamento farmacologico. Questo libro, frutto del lavoro concertato di un gruppo di farmacologi italiani, è nato con l'intento principale di fornire agli studenti e alle studentesse dei corsi di studi di ambito sanitario un'agile opera di riferimento, capace di far convivere semplicità e rigore informativo, allo scopo di riuscire a descrivere e valutare criticamente le proprietà generali di un farmaco e di prospettarne le possibili utilizzazioni terapeutiche. La ricca iconografia che accompagna il testo ha uno stile innovativo che presta particolare attenzione alla funzione didattica delle immagini. Numerosi box di approfondimento aiutano a comprendere l'implicazione di importanti principi della farmacologia generale nella pratica clinica.
