Internet e Egonet: la demagogia al potere?

Abstract

Se secondo McLuhan il medium tradizionale (TV e RADIO) modella i messaggi e li determina, i social media invece sono influenzati e strutturati dai messaggi stessi e da come questi si veicolano e replicano. Le loro strutture sono condizionate dalle Egonet, da aggregati di persone che si ricompongono in modi continui e ne modificano il substrato trasmissivo, il modo in cui l'informazione si propaga in rete e ne determina il significato. Le Egonet quindi guidano la comunicazione in direzioni del tutto inaspettate e ne cambiano le regole intensive originali. Le Egonet e le loro leggi di propagazione modellano e controllano il medium non solo sul piano della struttura comunicativa ma anche su quello economico. La verità diventa funzione del contesto sociale. La struttura decentralizzata e condivisa dei social è tale che i regimi autocratici, incapacitati al controllo tradizionale, ne ostacolano l'uso. Non solo, i recenti eventi di Twitter e di Elon Musk mostrano che anche i grandi Tycoon proprietari dei social media non sono in grado di influenzare andamento, qualità e struttura comunicativa dei social. Si mostra sul piano informatico come è possibile comprendere le Egonet, il loro senso comunicativo, come si possono trattare queste strutture e proponiamo analisi alternative e possibili conclusioni.
