Scienza e rivoluzione. La recezione dell’empiriocriticismo nella cultura russa (1877-1910)

Abstract

Il volume indaga la diffusione del pensiero di Avenarius e Mach in Russia, dove le opere dei due filosofi vennero tradotte con tempestività e completezza e furono lette e discusse sulla riviste, nei salotti, persino nelle carceri, coinvolgendo circoli accademici, scientifici, letterari, politici. Ai primi del '900 l'empiriocriticismo divenne elemento essenziale nel conflitto interno al partito socialdemocratico e alla sua frazione bolscevica. Si individuano qui i principali canali attraverso i quali la nuova epistemologia europea fece il suo ingresso in Russia e si ricostruiscono i termini del dibattito che ne seguì, attraverso l'analisi di testi a stampa e fonti d'archivio.
