Abstract

La cittadinanza digitale è uno dei temi caldi della cultura contemporanea, caratterizzata dalle trasformazioni del postmoderno e della globalizzazione. Il contributo ha l’obiettivo di individuare le dimensioni costitutive di questo concetto e di far emergere i nessi tra l’educazione alla cittadinanza digitale e la sfera della formazione e dell’apprendimento, in particolare attraverso la prospettiva del lifelong learning. Il necessario richiamo alla competenza digitale evidenzia la capacità, da parte dei soggetti, di analizzare criticamente i contesti e le forme simboliche per sviluppare forme di partecipazione democratica, ai fini della promozione di un empowerment che coinvolga indistintamente giovani e adulti. La sintesi teorica ed empirica di questi processi risiede nella New Media Education o New Media Literacy, etichette mediante le quali si fa riferimento ad un processo di apprendimento condiviso e partecipato, che coinvolge spazi formali ed informali
