Abstract

L'industria automobilistica è, nella sua versione fordista, lo strumento e il luogo di diffusione della modernità novecentesca. Il libro ricostruisce una storia sociale dell'automobile muovendo dal presupposto che il fordismo non è semplicemente organizzazione tecnica del lavoro, bensì un modo per riplasmare , attraverso la produzione di massa e i consumi, l'intera vita sociale.
