La pielonefrite nel periodo neonatale.

Abstract

Nello studio sono stati considerati bambini di età compresa tra 0 e 1 mese con pielonefrite (PNF), reflusso vescico-ureterale (RVU) o entrambi. Sono stati valutati diversi aspetti, quali: la familiarità, il sesso, le ecografie pre e post-natali, i sintomi in corso di infezione, i risultati ecografici, cistografici e scintigrafici ed infine la risposta alla terapia ed alla profilassi antibiotica. La scintigrafia renale statica con 99mTc DMSA ha segnalato, a distanza di 4-6 mesi dall'episodio pielonefritico, un maggior numero di scars parenchimali rispetto all'ecografia, a dimostrare che la scintigrafia ha un potere diagnostico superiore all'ecografia per le lesioni renali croniche.
