
A programme of intensive support for teenage mothers and their babies, delivered by nurses, is being rolled out across Scotland. Developed in the United States, there is evidence that the Family Nurse Partnership improves the health and life chances of families, but there is concern that the jobs may draw scarce health visiting staff away from other services.
