This paper looks at the diverse meanings that countryside may have for a variety of neo-rurals, having as starting point the case study of the residential restructuring experienced in the present context of Navarre (Spain). These meanings represent different ways of contesting the daily experience in contemporary society, different expectations about the extent they want to become engaged with the locality, and different ways of understanding therelationship between rural and urban.
