Abstract

Estudio publicado en Waste Management gana el premio Atlas Elsevier.Investigadora del TEC es coautora del estudio.Así como crecen la población mundial y la economía, lo hacen también el consumo y la generación de residuos. Por ello, es necesario enfocarse en la búsqueda de soluciones para este sistema -complejo y multidimensionalque permita manejar los residuos sólidos de manera eficiente.Esto es lo que afirma un grupo de investigadores en un estudio publicado en la revista Waste Management (https://www.journals. elsevier.com/waste-management), integrado por Lilliana Abarca Guerrero, del Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica, y un grupo de colegas de la Universidad Tecnológica de Eindhoven, en Holanda, y de la Universidad Linnaeus, de Suecia. Este grupo resultó ganador del premio Atlas de Elsevier el cual tiene como objetivo premiar artículos que han contribuido a la ciencia y han impactado (o pueden impactar) significativamente la calidad de vida de las personas en el mundo.
