Abstract

Las finanzas conductuales son un nuevo campo deinvestigación que se orienta en los factores cognoscitivos yasuntos emocionales que impactan los procesos de toma dedecisiones de individuos, grupos y organizaciones. El campopretende analizar la conducta individual y el fenómeno demercado, para lo cual utiliza la combinación de la psicología,la sociología y la teoría financiera. Con lo anterior procuralograr un mejor entendimiento del comportamiento quemuestran los practicantes financieros y el efecto subsecuenteque estos ejercen sobre los mercados en que operan, por mediode modelos en los cuales los actores no son completamenteracionales.En este artículo se analizan las finanzas modernas desde unpunto de vista de ciencia social más amplia, con un enfoqueconductual, intentando mejorar el análisis mediante una nuevaperspectiva interdisciplinaria. Se detallan algunos hallazgosinteresantes de este tipo de estudios y sus implicaciones ensituaciones financieras cotidianas. A la luz de la investigaciónrealizada se perfila el estado de la cuestión actual en la materiay se enumeran futuras líneas de investigación y campos deaplicación en finanzas e inversiones, dignas de atención porparte de los mercados latinoamericanos. ABSTRACT A new research field called behavioral finance targetsthe cognitive and emotional factors that impact the decisionmaking processes that individuals, groups and organizationsmake. This field attempts to analyze individual behaviorand market phenomena using psychology, sociology andfinancial theories to better understand financial institutionsbehavior and their subsequent impact on markets, usingmodels that consider non-rational behavior participants.This article analyzes modern finances from a broaderscientific perspective by using a new interdisciplinary pointof view. Some interesting findings and their impact ineveryday financial conditions are described. As an outcomeof this research, we present a current day status, and futureinvestigative lines for the Latin American markets areproposed.
