DISEÑO Y CONSTRUCCIÓN DE UN SECADOR SOLAR PARA MADERA

Abstract

En este informe técnico se presentan los aspectos más importantes que deben ser considerados en la construcción de un secador solar para madera aserrada. Se detallan aspectos de diseño de cimientos, paredes, puertas, techo, colector, equipamiento y una recomendación de los materiales por utilizar. Se incluye un prototipo de secadora solar, que ha sido construido por la Escuela de Ingeniería Forestal del Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica en Cartago. Como parte del paquete tecnológico se han incluido planos y vistas de la construcción así como el detalle de los costos de construcción, que para este modelo es de US $7223.3. Como complemento importante se incluye un análisis comparativo de costos por metro cúbico utilizando un secador solar y un horno convencional. Se determinó que el retorno de la inversión podría lograrse en 36 meses si se requiere de un préstamo y de 32 meses si se cuenta con el dinero; también se determinó que sin considerar el costo de capital inicial, el costo de secado por metro cúbico con una secadora solar es un 85% más económico respecto al secado de la madera utilizando un horno convencional.
