Efecto de la temperatura de almacenamiento y del contenido de humedad sobre la viabilidad de la semilla de ronrón (Astronium graveolens Jacq.)

Abstract

Semillas de ronrón recién cosechadas se llevaron a diferentes contenidos de humedad (12, 15, 18, 21 y 24 %) y posteriormente se almacenaron a tres temperaturas (10, 15 y 20 ºC) durante 225 días. La capacidad germinativa de la semilla se evaluó cada 45 días. El contenido de humedad afectó significativamente la viabilidad de la semilla de ronrón, la semilla con 12 % fue la que mejor soportó el periodo de almacenamiento, mientras que en las humedades altas se deterioró rápidamente la calidad fisiológica. La temperatura de 15 ºC conservó mejor la viabilidad de la semilla, mientras que esta se vio rápidamente deteriorada a 10 ºC. La interacción entre temperatura y humedad mostró que la semilla con 12 % de humedad y almacenada a 15 ºC produjo los mejores resultados en forma consistente a través de todo el periodo, lográndose 65 % de semillas germinadas después de seis meses de almacenamiento.
