Modelación Asistida de Sistemas de Distribución de Agua (MASDA) Caso de Estudio: Acueducto Marsella

Abstract

Este artículo pretende establecer los criterios técnicos y de factibilidad necesarios para el proceso de optimización del sistema de distribución de agua potable de la comunidad rural La Marsella, localizada en Venecia de San Carlos, Costa Rica. Para dicho propósito, se ejecutó un análisis hidráulico y de calidad para la extensión total del sistema. Con base en este análisis, se espera que sean tomadas acciones correctivas que aseguren la continuidad y correcta operación del sistema a largo plazo. En la actualidad, el sistema presenta diversas deficiencias operativas. Además, la construcción del túnel principal de conducción del Proyecto Hidroeléctrico Toro III ha impuesto un riesgo potencial sobre la continuidad de la principal fuente de abastecimiento del sistema. Este proyecto fue llevado a cabo con el apoyo del Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE), el cual ha asumido la responsabilidad de garantizar la permanencia futura del sistema. Las labores se realizaron en varias etapas, desde la caracterización de campo y la toma de datos, hasta el proceso de análisis hidráulico vía EPANet, junto con un análisis financiero. La legislación nacional se respetó a la luz de todas lasinstituciones involucradas.
