Entornos virtuales y formación flexible

Abstract

La enseñanza formal y, fundamentalmente, la enseñanza superior ‘convencional’, sea presencial o a distancia, se transforma y evoluciona hacia modalidades de aprendizaje abierto, donde se produce una oferta educativa flexible. Este tipo de oferta requiere materiales diseñados para un doble uso: tanto los estudiantes presenciales, como aquellos que no pueden estar físicamente presentes conseguirán el acceso al aprendizaje a través de una variedad de medios, con la posibilidad de clases tutoriales y entrevistas personales. En el diseño de estos nuevos ambientes o entornos virtuales lo fundamental no es la disponibilidad tecnológica, también debe atenderse a las características de los otros elementos del proceso instructivo y en especial al usuario del aprendizaje. No son los mismos usuarios (no presentan las mismas necesidades de aprendizaje, las mismas motivaciones, la misma independencia, situaciones laborales y profesionales, las mismas condiciones y disponibilidades, etc.), o no pretenden los mismos aprendizajes, los que aprenden desde el hogar, que los que lo hacen desde el puesto de trabajo o en un centro educativo convencional.
