Ruptura de la latencia en semillas de balsa (Ochroma pyramidale)

Abstract

Se evaluó el efecto de tratamientos químicos y físicos sobre la interrupción de la latencia en semillas de balsa (Ochroma pyramidale). Los tratamientos químicos fueron: ácido giberélico (0,100,200 y 300 mg/L), nitrato de potasio (0, 0,4, 0,8 y 1,2%) y cianamida hidrogenada (0,1,2 y 4% de formulación comercial al 50% i.a.). Los tratamientos físicos fueron: agua a 80℃ (0,1,2, y 3 min.), agua a 40℃ (0,24,48 y 72 horas) y escarificación química con ácido sulfúrico (0,8,16,24,32 y 40 min). Aunque el tratamiento con ácido giberélico estimuló significativamente la germinación, los mayores resultados se obtuvieron con los tratamientos en agua caliente y en ácido sulfúrico, con los cuales se llegó hasta 68% de germinación con agua a 80℃ por 3 minutos y 73% con ácido sulfúrico por 32 minutos, mientras que el testigo no superó 24%.
