Usos potenciales de la madera laminada en la fabricación de muebles

Abstract

Se presenta la madera laminada a base de chapa (LVL) como un material excelente y promisorio en la costrucción de muebles. Sus propiedades mecánicas, relativo bajo costo, apariencia física, maquinado y calidad final, hacen de éste producto ideal para sustituir aplicaciones con madera sólida de alto costo y baja disponibilidad. Se demuestra también que el LVL es capaz de sustituir materiales aglomerados y contrachapados en varias contrucciones. Finalmente se analizan en detalle diferentes aplicaciones de LVL en la construcción de muebles.
