Tratamiento anaerobio de aguas residuales urbanas en planta piloto

Abstract

[Resumen] La digestión anaerobia es una alternativa cada vez mas consolidada y utilizada, especialmente en el tratamiento de efluentes de media y alta carga. Las principales ventajas de la digestión anaerobia frente al tratamiento aerobio son la producción de biogás que, en general, satisface las demandas energéticas de la planta o incluso puede llegar a generar una cantidad extra de energía, y una escasa producción de lodo en exceso. Además, la digestión anaerobia se puede aplicar tanto en tratamientos centralizados como descentralizados, al tiempo que constituye un tratamiento de bajo coste. La aplicación de la digestión anaerobia al tratamiento de aguas residuales de baja carga es mas novedosa y solo se considera consolidada en el caso de países tropicales, puesto que a temperaturas inferiores a 20º C (caso de Galicia), la tecnología anaerobia no esta suficientemente desarrollada y la eficacia de tratamiento de efluentes de baja carga es insuficiente. El objetivo general del trabajo fue analizar el tratamiento anaerobio en planta piloto de aguas residuales urbanas brutas de baja carga orgánica y a baja temperatura ambiente (entre 14 y 20º C). La planta piloto se instaló en la depuradora de Santiago de Compostela (EDAR Silvouta). El trabajo presenta un primera capitulo dedicado a la revisión bibliografica y un segundo capitulo en que se detallan los materiales y métodos utilizados a lo largo de la experimentación. Aspectos metodológicos concretos fueron especificados en cada uno de los capítulos.
