[Abstract] The purpose 01 this paper is to acquire a deeper understanding 01 Ihe relationship bet- ween Galicia, Krausism and the Institución Libre de Enseñanza. We have endeavored to continue our research task 01 inquiring about all the people and institutions who had, in a direct or indirect way, any kind 01 relalionship with the Krausist-institutionalist movement. The period 01 our research covers only up lo the loundation 01 the ILE in 1876. Our research topic locuses on the University 01 Santiago de Compostela. We begin with a lew notes on Krause and a briel description 01 Krausism in Spain accor- ding to the melhod imported by Sanz del Rio Irom Germany. Next, we proceed to analyze ¡he deve- lopment 01 the Krausist movement in Galicia, the universily protest in Santiago which was the origin 01 the ILE, and the Galician involvement in the creation 01 the Institución Ubre de Enseñanza.

[Resumo] o obxectivo des te traballo e seguir alondando nas relacións de Galicia co krausismo e coa Institución Libre de Enseñanza. Hai nel un eslorzo por continuar lurgando en todas aquelas persoas e institucións que tiveron relación, directa ou indirecta, co movemento krausoinstitucionista. Limitámo-Io período ata a lundación da ILE, en 1876. O tema ten como centro a Universidade de Santiago de Compostela. Partimos dunhas notas ó redor da ligura de Krause, cunha breve aproximación ó krausismo en España, que Sanz del Río importa de Alemaña. Analizamos logo a chegada do krausismo a Galicia, a protesta universitaria en Santiago que daría orixe á ILE e a presencia galega no nacemento da Institución Libre de Enseñanza.
