[Resumen] El presente artículo aborda el tema del aprendizaje de la lectura desde un punto de vista psicológico. Se hace especial hincapié en los aspectos afectivos que contribuyen al desarrollo de esta habilidad; asimismo, se pone de manifiesto la influencia del entorno familiar en la actitud del niño ante la lectura y cómo este entorno puede favorecer dicho aprendizaje
