Abstract

[Abstract] In the ductile shear zone associated to the normal Vivero fault, Hombreiro and Santa Eulalia de Pena granitic massifs (emplaced in the foot wall block) have undergone intense mylonitization. Quartz~fabric analysis provides some types of diagrams which rather evidence an important temperature-fall coeval with deformation process associated to the Vivero fault. This temperature-decrease is proposed to a result of extensional character of the Vivero fault, leading to progressive uplift of the foot-wall.
