Urbanismo y crisis ambiental

Abstract

[Resumen] El texto analiza cómo el crecimiento urbano se ha basado en la idea de que los recursos eran ilimitados, lo que ha llevado a un modelo de desarrollo insostenible. La actual crisis ambiental y energética pone en evidencia los efectos negativos de este modelo, asociado al crecimiento constante del capitalismo y a la explotación de los recursos naturales. Se señala que cada vez más población vive en ciudades (se prevé un 60% en 2030), lo que plantea grandes dudas sobre las condiciones de vida futuras en un contexto de crisis ecológica y escasez energética. El urbanismo tradicional también es criticado por no ser neutral, ya que ha contribuido a desigualdades sociales y a la degradación del entorno natural. Esto obliga a replantear profundamente la forma en que se diseñan y habitan las ciudades. Finalmente, se propone una visión alternativa basada en valores como el respeto a la naturaleza, la justicia social, la solidaridad y una perspectiva biocéntrica, donde el ser humano deja de ser el centro para entenderse como parte del ecosistema.
