Esto no es Irak: Un juego serio

Abstract

[Abstract]: During late 2019, early 2020, I carried out field studies across the militarized zone and borders of Iraqi Kurdistan witnessing the trauma experienced by those who had direct contact with war and human rights violations. A direct consequence of the expansionist agenda, driving the regional and international colonial powers in the area. I conducted numerous interviews with Kurdish victims of the war, men and women who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. For the most part primary sources were photographed and filmed by Syrian refugees, in collaboration with the Kurdish authorities and the artist. The audiovisual evidence collected is used for the creation of a serious game and application, in collaboration with the: “Department of Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology, Hospital Clinic of Barcelona”. A serious game, which intends to help all victims of trauma.
