Abstract

[Resumen] Actualmente alrededor de 4.000 millones de personas viven en ciudades. El 54% de la población total se encuentra concentrada en apenas el 5% de la superficie terrestre del planeta. De las 60 megaciudades de más de 5 millones de habitantes, tres cuartas partes se ubican en países del mundo infradesarrollado. La ONU calcula que en el año 2050 habrá 5.000 millones de personas viviendo en la pequeña superficie de las ciudades, lo que supone dos tercios de la población mundial. De ellos el 5% (250 millones) en megaciudades ubicadas en países pobres con periferias de condiciones infrahumanas.

Das 60 megaciudades de máis de 5 millóns de habitantes, tres cuartas partes sitúanse en países do mundo infradesarrollado. A ONU calcula que no ano 2050 haberá 5.000 millóns de persoas vivindo na pequena superficie das cidades, o que supón dous terzos da poboación mundial. Deles o 5% (250 millóns) en megaciudades situadas en países pobres con periferias de condicións infrahumanas.
