Nuevas tendencias del turismo: turismo sostenible y ecoturismo

Abstract

[Abstract]: There is no doubt that tourism plays a very significant role within national economies, consolidating itself as the main source of income in many countries or cities of the world. As this evolves, new tourist flows are also linked to the changes that are taking place in society. A clear example of these new trends are sustainable tourism and ecotourism, which have appeared as an alternative to other tourist practices, such as mass tourism. Likewise, factors such as the recent Covid-19 pandemic have favored these tourism modalities based on sustainability and disconnection in a natural environment. Therefore, as reflected in the title, this project is focused on the analysis of new tourism trends about sustainable tourism and ecotourism. Under this main objective, a quantitative analysis linked to demand and supply in Spain is carried out, through national reports and a population survey. Likewise, a qualitative analysis related to this type of tourism in Galicia is exposed, in which interviews are also conducted with Galician establishments, pursuing the secondary objective of identifying the challenges and opportunities of the sector. As a finishing touch to this study, a series of conclusions are proposed, which allow us to understand the point at which these trends are and their outlook for the future.
