Empleabilidad de los egresados universitarios en España. Análisis de probabilidades de empleabilidad por perfiles

Abstract

[Abstract]: Over the years, governments, universities, and non-governmental organizations have tried to find answers to the problem of labor market insertion. University graduates start from a favorable situation with respect to these problems, however, the labor market demands changes in education to bring it closer to the real needs of the market. For this reason, employability rates have become a differentiating element between universities. The objective of this work is to establish the variables that condition the labor market insertion of university graduates, focusing on the analysis of the personal and academic factors of the graduate. To answer this question, a logit econometric model has been developed to determine to what extent the variables studied have an impact on the employability of university graduates. This model will be estimated using as a data base the Survey of Labor Market Insertion of University Graduates prepared by the INE (National Statistics Institute). It is important to mention that there has been a considerable increase in the employability rates of university graduates in recent years. The results of the model allow us to establish that the best profile of university graduate to have a higher probability of being employed is male, over 35 years of age, who has studied in the Health Sciences branch and who has studied in a private university. Through this study, society and universities will be able to have an approach to the real employability data allowing them to define plans to improve the employability of their graduates.
