Abstract

[Resumen] Las comunidades de los microbios en el suelo son muy diversas y desempeñan un papel esencial en la distribución de la diversidad vegetal. En el presente estudio, se ha llevado a cabo la secuenciación de próxima generación en paralelo (NGS) mediante metabarcoding, tanto de los hongos micorrícicos arbusculares (AMF), que tienen una asociación mutualista con plantas, y de los oomicetos, que son patógenos de las plantas, determinando la abundancia relativa y la diversidad de éstos en todos los suelos de diferentes sitios de Panamá Centro. Por otro lado, estudios previos indican que existen variables ambientales como pH y zona de precipitación que pueden influenciar directamente sobre el comportamiento de estos microorganismos y, a su vez, en la distribución de los bosques tropicales. Se observó que los AMF presentan mayor abundancia y diversidad en aquellas regiones de mayor precipitación (Zona del Caribe de Panamá), mientras que la diversidad de los oomicetos no sé ve afectada por las precipitaciones, ya que tan sólo el pH genera cambios significativos en su diversidad.

[Abstract] Microbial communities in the soil are highly diverse and play an essential role in the distribution of plant diversity. In this project, perform parallel next-generation sequencing (NGS) by metabarcoding of organisms associated with plants, both arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) that have a mutualistic association with plants and oomycetes that are plant pathogens, determining the relative abundance and the diversity of these in all the soils of different sites in Central Panama. On the other hand, previous studies indicate that there are environmental variables such as pH and precipitation zone that directly influence the behavior of these microorganisms and, in turn, the distribution of tropical forests. It was observed that the AMF present greater abundance and diversity in those regions with higher rainfall (Caribbean Zone of Panama), while the diversity of the oomycetes is not affected by rainfall, since only the pH generates significant changes in its diversity.
