Abstract

[Resumen] Introducción: La terapia ocupacional juega un papel de gran relevancia en el tratamiento de la lesión medular. Por tanto, en los casos de lesiones medulares cervicales altas, C2, C3 y C4, se debe buscar una estrategia para mejorar el desempeño ocupacional de estas personas. Esa mejora en el desempeño se alcanza mediante el uso de sillas de ruedas eléctricas con mando inteligente. Las diferentes posibilidades que ofrece este mando inteligente nos permiten trabajar muchas de las áreas ocupacionales de una persona con este tipo concreto de lesión medular. Objetivos: Explorar la relación existente entre el uso de sillas de ruedas con mando inteligente y el desempeño ocupacional en personas con lesiones medulares cervicales altas. Metodología: El proyecto empleará una metodología cualitativa, basada en aspectos fenomenológicos. Para la recogida de datos se empleará una entrevista semiestructurada y un diario personal para cada participante. Aspectos éticos: Para desarrollar el proyecto, se guiará la investigación para cumplir con los aspectos éticos requeridos por la Declaración de Helsinki.

Polo tanto, nos casos de lesións da medula espiñal cervical superior, C2, C3 e C4, débese buscar unha estratexia para mellorar o rendemento ocupacional destas persoas. Esta mellora no rendemento conséguese mediante o uso de cadeiras de rodas eléctricas controladas de xeito intelixente. As diferentes posibilidades que ofrece este control intelixente permítenos traballar en moitas das áreas ocupacionais dunha persoa con este tipo específico de lesión medular. Obxectivos: Explorar a relación entre o uso de cadeiras de rodas controladas de xeito intelixente e o desempeño ocupacional en persoas con lesións medulares cervicais superiores. Metodoloxía: O proxecto empregará unha metodoloxía cualitativa, baseada en aspectos fenomenolóxicos. Para a recollida de datos, empregarase unha entrevista semiestruturada e un diario persoal para cada participante. Aspectos éticos: Para desenvolver o proxecto, a investigación guiarase para cumprir os aspectos éticos requiridos pola Declaración de Helsinqui.

[Abstract] Introduction: Occupational therapy plays a highly relevant role in the treatment of spinal cord injury. Therefore, in the cases of upper cervical spinal cord injuries, C2, C3 and C4, a strategy should be sought to improve the occupational performance of these people. This improvement in performance is achieved through the use of smartly controlled electric wheelchairs. The different possibilities offered by this smart control allow us to work on many of the occupational areas of a person with this specific type of spinal cord injury. Goals: To explore the relationship between the use of smartly controlled wheelchairs and occupational performance in people with upper cervical spinal cord injuries. Methodology: The project will use a qualitative methodology, based on phenomenological aspects. For data collection, a semi-structured interview and a personal diary will be used for each participant. Ethical aspects: To develop the project, the research will be guided to comply with the ethical aspects required by the Declaration of Helsinki.
