Abstract

Conclusións: as variables asociadas a arteriopatía son a idade e o tabaquismo. O ITB proporciona unha detección precoz da enfermidade.

[Abstract] Objectives: to determine the prevalence of peripheral arterial disease in kidney transplant patients. To know the concordance, validity and safety of the clinical manifestations of intermittent claudication for its diagnosis. Identify cardiovascular risk factors, quality of life and perceived satisfaction with the hospital care received. Material and methods: observational prevalence study with 371 kidney transplant patients at CHUAC between 1981-2014. Data will be recorded on sociodemographic characteristics, anthropometric variables and cardiovascular risk factors, variables related to arterial disease, comorbidity, physical activity, cognitive deterioration, quality of life and satisfaction with the care received. Results: the mean age at transplantation was 47.86 ± 12.62 years, 65.5% being men. 8.7% of patients have ABI <0.90. 16.2% manifest intermittent claudication according to the Edinburgh questionnaire. The agreement between the two tests is weak. 67.8% of patients have a poor physical quality of life and 40.0% mental. Patients with PAD have higher cardiovascular risk values and are more satisfied with the care received. Conclusions: the variables associated with arterial disease are age and smoking. ABI provides early detection of the disease. Patients with arterial disease have a higher cardiovascular risk and a poorer quality of life.
