Abstract

[Abstract]: Botrytis cinerea Pers.:Fr.is a plant pathogenic fungus with a necrotroph lifestyle and is the causal agent of grey mould. Its sexual form is the teleomorph Botryotinia fuckeliana Whetzel, which is rarely observed. The reproduction of anamorphic Botrytis cinerea is asexual, forming conidia that cause the primary infection in plants. In this study we compared the fungicide effect of benzylaminopurine (BAP) and pyrimethanil (PIRI) in two isolates with different sensitivity to cyprodinil, a fungicide analogue of pyrimethanil. Assays were carried out to study the inhibition of mycelial growth, conidia germination, and germ tube growth. While pyrimethanil significantly inhibited Botrytis cinerea in all assays, benzylaminopurine only did it in some cases.
