Feijoo, sobre todo, y Sar111iento son dos figuras relevantes en la elaboración del pensa111iento crítico y enciclopedista espa-ñol de la época, cuya aportación a la teoría social es notable, particularmente, por su defensa del racionalis111o, su apoyo a los criterios de análisis científico y su call1-paña contra el sectariS1110 ideológico.
