Abstract

[Resumen] Objetivo: Valorar la efectividad de la intervención de Terapia Ocupacional empleando gafas de realidad virtual. Fomentar la autonomía personal y calidad de vida de las/los participantes especialmente en las áreas de ocio y participación social en la comunidad. Metodología: Se ha empleado una perspectiva mixta, combinando la metodología cuantitativa con la cualitativa. Desde el punto de vista cuantitativo, el diseño utilizado es de tipo analítico, con una estructura de cohortes y de carácter longitudinal. A nivel cualitativo se utilizó el diseño narrativo. La intervención incluyó un entrenamiento con las gafas de realidad virtual y su posterior generalización en la vida diaria de las/los participantes. Se utilizaron distintas herramientas pre y post-intervención: escala de evaluación de la Calidad de Vida de personas con Daño Cerebral (CAVIDACE), Medida Canadiense del Rendimiento Ocupacional (COPM), instrumento estandarizado FIM+FAM y entrevista semiestructurada. Resultados: Se evidencia una mejora en la percepción de la calidad de vida por parte de los participantes y de su rendimiento ocupacional. Se observa un aumento de su independencia en las Actividades de la Vida Diaria, y en su autonomía personal especialmente en las áreas de ocio y participación social en la comunidad tras el uso de las gafas de realidad virtual. Conclusiones: Se puede determinar que se cumple con la hipótesis establecida: La intervención con gafas de realidad virtual en Terapia Ocupacional ha mejorado la autonomía personal, especialmente en la participación social en la comunidad (AIVD), y en el ocio de las personas con DCA pertenecientes a Adace Lugo.

[Abstract] Objective: Assess the effectiveness of the Occupational Therapy intervention using virtual reality glasses. Promote the personal autonomy and quality of life of the participants, especially in the areas of leisure and social participation in the community. Methodology: A mixed perspective has been used, combining quantitative with qualitative methodology. From a quantitative point of view, the design used is of an analytical type, with a cohort structure and of a longitudinal nature. At the qualitative level, the narrative design was used. The intervention included a training with the virtual reality glasses and its subsequent generalization in the daily life of the participants. Different pre and post-intervention tools were used: assessment of the Quality of Life of people with Brain Injury (CAVIDACE), Canadian Measure of Occupational Performance (COPM), FIM + FAM standardized instrument and semi-structured interview. Results: An improvement in the perception of the quality of life by the participants and their occupational performance is evident. An increase in their independence is observed in the Activities of Daily Living, and in their personal autonomy especially in the areas of leisure and social participation in the community after the use of virtual reality glasses. Conclusions: It can be determined that the established hypothesis is met: The intervention with virtual reality glasses in Occupational Therapy has improved personal autonomy, especially in social participation in the community (AIVD), and in the leisure of people with ACD belonging to Adace Lugo.

[Resumo] Obxectivo: Valorar a efectividade da intervención de Terapia Ocupacional empregando gafas de realidade virtual. Fomentar a autonomía persoal e calidade de vida das/os participantes especialmente nas áreas de ocio e participación social na comunidade. Metodoloxía: Empregouse unha perspectiva mixta, combinando a metodoloxía cuantitativa coa cualitativa. Dende o punto de vista cuantitativo, o diseño utilizado é de tipo analítico, con unha estructura de cohortes e de carácter lonxitudinal. A nivel cualitativo utilizouse o diseño narrativo. A intervención incluíu un adestramento coas gafas de realidade virtual e a sua posterior xeralización na vida diaria das/os participantes. Utilizáronse distintas ferramentas pre e post-intervención: escala de evaluación da Calidade de Vida de persoas con Dano Cerebral (CAVIDACE), Medida Canadiense do Rendemento Ocupacional (COPM), instrumento estandarizado FIM+FAM e entrevista semiestructurada. Resultados: Evidénciase unha mellora na percepción da calidade de vida por parte das/os participantes e do seu rendemento ocupacional. Obsérvase un aumento da independencia nas Actividades da Vida Diaria, e na sua autonomía persoal especialmente nas áreas de ocio e participación social na comunidad tras o uso das gafas de realidade virtual.
