Abstract

[Abstract] Aim: the present study focuses on identifying the most recent areas of research in art therapy in the hospital setting and seeing in which fields it is currently working, in order to subsequently propose a study of an art therapy intervention within the clinical setting with healthcare professionals. Methodology: A qualitative study of a hermeneutical phenomenological approach is proposed. The aim is to understand the human experience and the exploration of emerging meanings through the image and the creative process, together with intentional observation and reflection about them. The participants are the health professionals from the Complejo Hospitalario Universitario de A Coruña (CHUAC) where the study will take place. Ten art therapy sessions will be offered in “open studio” format. The collection of information will be carried out through participant observation, the artistic production created in the sessions and in-depth interviews with the participants. The analysis strategy of the data obtained will be based on the method of thematic analysis of Braun and Clarke.
