Herramienta automática para el análisis y clasificación de imágenes de capilaroscopia del lecho ungueal

Abstract

[Resumen] Las capilaroscopias son técnicas de diagnóstico vascular no invasivas. Se aplican sobre el lecho ungueal y toman una imagen microscópica de la zona, mostrando los vasos sanguíneos que allí se encuentran. Con ellas se pueden detectar enfermedades como lupus eritomatoso, dermatomiositis o, con mayor frecuencia, esclerodermia sistémica. En esta última, suele presentarse una alteración vascular llamada fenómeno de Raynaud, que afecta directamente a las arterias de pequeño calibre, en especial a las de los dedos de las manos o los pies. El proceso de diagnóstico es largo y tedioso: para un diagnóstico correcto, se han de tomar imágenes de todos los dedos y cada una de ellas debe ser analizada por un experto. Entonces, éste detecta manualmente los capilares visibles y los clasifica uno a uno. El objetivo de este proyecto es el de agilizar este proceso y proporcionar a los expertos una herramienta automática que detecte los capilares en las imágenes, los cuente y los clasifique, realizando un diagnóstico fiable y rápido. Se desarrollará también una aplicación web para facilitar el uso de la metodología propuesta a un público más general.
