Solvencia y liquidez del sector bancario

Authors: Budiño Veiga, Julia;

Solvencia y liquidez del sector bancario

Abstract

[Abstract] The principal objective of this paper is to analyze the measures taken by different government agencies to solve the problems of solvency and liquidity of the European and Spanish financial institutions, focusing more on the above mentioned, as a result of the emergence of the international economic crisis in 2007. Established measures will be analysed by Basel III and all banks in order to improve the level and quality of capital and the introduction of minimum standards to guarantee the liquidity. We will focus on the Spanish process of bank restructuring and reorganization and the assistance given by the government to the different entities and the intervention of the FROB or the transfer of “toxic” assets to SAREB to stabilize the financial situation and in order to recover the economic activity. To conclude, we will examine the repercussions and the measures adopted in the process of economic recovery and the possible success or failures of these measures.
