Tratamiento de la onicomicosis : Revisión bibliográfica

Abstract

[Abstract] Objective: Literature review aimed to examine and review existing scientific literature on treatments for onychomycosis. Methodology: We conducted a literature search in the electronic database ISI Web of Knowledge, selecting articles published between 2010 and 2015, during the months of March and April, applying certain criteria of inclusion and exclusion. Results: After searching cited above, 14 articles that met the inclusion criteria and exclusion selected for the job. Conclusions: There are different treatments for onychomycosis. It is advisable to start with a topical antifungal eficonazol as 10% or topical terbinafine. Both show good cure rates in various studies. If this treatment does not work, combined with an oral antifungal as terbinafine, which proved effective in various trials. Although there are not enough studies to determine the number of sessions required, and efficacy and recurrence, laser and photodynamic therapy are other treatment options available.
