Adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico en pacientes psicóticos

Abstract

[Abstract] Introduction: Schizophrenia is a group of diseases of multifactorial etiology (genetic and environmental disturbances) prone to chronic and disabling that affects 1% of the population. It is considered the leading cause of disability in young adults. Treatment of this type of disease is based on pharmacological and psychosocial interventions. Due to lack of adherence to treatment, the application of nursing interventions has been proposed in order to improve the deficit in the compliance. Methodology: The aim of this review is to examine the scientific literature to determine which nursing interventions could improve adherence in patients with schizophrenia. A search was performed in seven major scientific databases: PubMed, Scielo, Cuiden, Dialnet, Scopus, Cochrane and LILACS. Results: After the search and subsequent reading of the articles, a total of 15 items that were adjusted to the proposed inclusion criteria were selected. These articles highlight the importance of the adherence in these patients and they reflect different strategies to analyze adherence (interviewing patients and nursing, nursing records, etc.) and to improve skills (psychoeducational programs, improving the therapeutic alliance, etc.) Conclusions: The nursing through psychoeducational therapies and personal sessions, focused on promoting, improving and maintaining Adherencia al tratamiento en pacientes psicóticos 3 adherence helps schizophrenic patients to improve adherence, helping to prevent a worsening of their disease.
