Equitación para personas con discapacidad intelectual

Abstract

La equinopterapia se refiere a diversas técnicas orientadas al tratamiento de personas con discapacidad donde el caballo es el elemento central. El objetivo principal de este estudio es determinar si la equinoterapia produce mejoras en áreas motoras, cognitivas, emocionales y sociales en personas con discapacidad intelectual que la practican. Para ello, se seleccionará a dos adultos que ejerciten dicha actividad, con edades comprendidas entre los 30 y 35 años, con algún tipo de discapacidad mental. Los sujetos que formarán la muestra practicarán la equinoterapia en el Centro Ecuestre Pinteño ubicado en Cambre, A Coruña; donde asistirán una vez a la semana, un total de 12 sesiones, con duración de hora y media cada una. Al comenzar se les hará una evaluación psicomotriz inicial y tras un periodo de tres meses se le efectuará la misma evaluación con el fin de comprobar si hubo mejoras en la práctica. Además, se registrarán en todas las sesiones parámetros socio-afectivos relevantes para posteriormente analizarlos y poder llegar a una conclusión.
