Abstract

PRESENTAZIONE Un testo nuovo di tecnologie biomolecolari che guarda alle conoscenze di base e nel contempo, a quelle avanzate con un approccio scientifico-sperimentale ed una particolare attenzione a rendere gli argomenti fruibile a studenti con preparazione eterogenea. Il testo rappresenta il primo di due volumi e copre in particolar modo le tecniche applicate allo studio dell’espressione e delle modificazioni del DNA, con un occhio attento, oltre che all’RNA codificante anche all’ampia categoria di molecole di RNA con funzioni regolatrici. Per quello che riguarda le proteine più che allo studio della struttura, il testo prende in esame le tecniche che ne identificano con maggior dettaglio il loro ruolo funzionale. Il libro prevede una parte dedicata alle colture cellulari ed alle tecniche che fanno uso di anticorpi con box di approfondimento su cellule staminali e il loro uso in biomedicina, e nanoanticorpi, prospettive future di applicazione in ambito biologico e biotecnologico. Risulta particolarmente innovativa l’introduzione di un capitolo sulla sicurezza in laboratorio e sulla prevenzione dei rischi chimici e biologici.
