Abstract

Un dizionario tecnico con la prefazione di Francesca Romana Recchia Luciani che raccoglie 2417 lemmi, con l'obiettivo di rappresentare le questioni di genere nella loro interezza, ma anche con l'intento di usare le parole giuste per riconoscere fenomeni che individuiamo confusamente o che passano sottotraccia o non sappiamo contestualizzare. Il volume è il primo strumento realizzato con lo scopo di censire in modo sistematico tutti i concetti che riguardano le disparità, gli orientamenti sessuali, le identità, i fenomeni politici, culturali, economici e sociali che causano questioni di genere. Per questo non sono descritti solo gli stereotipi e gli svantaggi a carico delle donne, ma quelli a carico di tutte le soggettività marginalizzate e oppresse, comprendendo gli uomini e altre identità e orientamenti sessuali, così come culture e popolazioni, pur senza pretesa di esaustività. Il volume contiene etimologie, definizioni, analisi, dati, citazioni, studi e contributi preziosi legati agli studi di genere di voci rappresentative del panorama italiano o che lavorano quotidianamente su questi temi.
