Abstract

Saggio critico sulla città di Istanbul, all'interno di una guida architettonica sulla città. Istanbul, che ha dimostrato nel recente passato di essere una città internazionale vivace e attenta, interessata alle tendenze, ricca di eventi culturali e in grado di attrarre turisti e investitori dai paesi stranieri, merita di veder riconosciuto oggi tutto il suo passato e di focalizzare l’attenzione sugli sviluppi del presente. Visitare Istanbul significa rivivere la cultura e le meraviglie di un popolo antico e affascinante anche per la sua convivenza con gli sviluppi attuali. Gli itinerari proposti offrono un’ampia selezione del patrimonio architettonico della città e prendono in considerazione opere di architettura prevalentemente contemporanea e d’interesse storico/artistico; coinvolgono ogni area della città, attraverso la densa morfologia urbana ma individuando anche spazi verdi e piazze pubbliche, luoghi in cui è possibile ritrovare il contatto con la natura e distaccarsi dal caos frenetico della metropoli.
