Vida universitaria y gobernanza inclusivas

Abstract

Facilitar la vida independiente del alumnado con discapacidad intelectual debe estar en el centro de las decisiones que las personas con responsabilidad política deben tener en cuenta a la hora de gestionar tanto la vida universitaria como el sistema de gobierno. La identificación y eliminación de cualquier barrera y la adopción de procesos, herramientas y medidas facilitadoras deben ir en la dirección de los ajustes razonables mencionados en la Convención de la ONU. La inclusión del alumnado con discapacidad no puede limitarse a la mera presencia en la vida universitaria, sino que debe ir acompañada de una plena participación y progreso del resto de estudiantes en cuanto a capacidades y logros. La ciudadanía activa en la vida universitaria sólo puede fomentarse mediante la implicación directa de estudiantes con discapacidad intelectual, que actuarán como motor de mejora.
