In the essay, I establish a comparison between the work of Elisabetta Di Maggio and the practice of Sophie Ko, with special focus on the notion of "meraviglia". The integration of devices of exposure and the attention on recreating and incorporating natural processes within the realm of art by both artists resonates with the notion of world as a spectacle and "meraviglia" as a process of knowledge and self-consciousness.
