Il caleidoscopio africano

Abstract

La popolazione africana è formata da innumerevoli etnie, dando luogo a un caleidoscopio letteralmente formato da molteplici tessere. L’attuale ammontare della popolazione è di circa 1.340.000.000, con un tasso di incremento del 2,5%. 54 paesi formano il continente africano, condizionati dalla storia del colonialismo. L’alto tasso di incremento darà luogo nel futuro ad un raddoppio della popolazione del Continente, così influenzando sviluppo e migrazioni. Gli anziani sono pochissimi e i giovani quasi la metà della popolazione. La speranza di vita alla nascita nel Nord e nel Sud è relativamente elevata, al contrario dell’Africa centrale, anche a causa dell’Aids. Il fenomeno che maggiormente condiziona l’evoluzione e la struttura della popolazione è la fecondità che è alta nell’Africa sub-Sahariana, molto meno nel Nord e nel Sud. In generale la popolazione africana ha un alto tasso di povertà, denunciata anche dagli immensi slums che circondano le sue megalopoli.
