Abstract

La rappresentazione dei tre mondi attraversati da Dante all'interno della Divina Commedia ha appassionato per secoli artisti, illustratori e scienziati visionari. Da Botticelli a Galileo passando per Gustave Doré e Dalí, sono stati in tanti a cercare di riprodurre, attraverso potenti immagini, spazi, atmosfere e paesaggi dell'Inferno, del Purgatorio e del Paradiso. Il libro è arricchito da contributi critici del dantista Riccardo Bruscagli oltre che da una serie di saggi di Alfonso Gambardella, Chiara Ingrosso, Simona Ottieri e Luca Molinari. La relazione visiva e concettuale tra l'immaginario tradizionale dantesco e una sua interpretazione attuale viene utilizzata come spunto per una riflessione più ampia che guarda al complesso e mutevole confronto tra racconto e immagine, filtrata attraverso visioni potenti e originali che riflettono sulla fragile natura del mondo contemporaneo riletto attraverso gli occhi di Dante
