Abstract

The essay focuses on the emergence of Central Asia as historical subject in Eighteenth Century European historioghraphy, remarking the differences and the connections as well between the erudite and the philosophic approach. It also aim to highlight the relationship of this topic with the development of the idea of civilization in the Enlightenment thought.
