Abstract

L’approccio autobiografico, per le sue caratteristiche di orientamento alla riflessione e alla ridefinizione della storia del contesto familiare, è ampiamente utilizzato negli interventi di Educazione Familiare rivolti ai genitori di bambini e adolescenti con Disturbi dello Spettro Autistico. Esso rappresenta un approccio per la comprensione delle eventuali regole familiari disfunzionali e per l’aumento della comunicazione tra i genitori. Tali processi, a loro volta, permettono la diminuzione del senso di isolamento frequentemente presente in queste famiglie. L’utilizzo delle pratiche narrative favorisce la riconsiderazione degli obiettivi di vita della famiglia, con effetti positivi sulla diminuzione dello stress e sulla ricerca di supporto sociale. La condivisione degli affetti tra i genitori permette lo sviluppo della resilienza familiare, competenza determinante per la gestione di un evento complesso come quello della nascita di un figlio con disabilità. In questo articolo vengono descritti i fondamenti teorici dell’approccio autobiografico e le sue implicazioni per gli interventi di Educazione Familiare rivolti ai genitori di bambini con Disturbi dello Spettro Autistico.
