
The article offers a review of the main literature about the supposed existence of a 'scientific revolution' in medicine during the Hellenistic age, to conclude that, if in other scientific disciplines a strong changement of cultural patterns certainly occurred, Hellenistic medicine was not able to complete a real 'revolutionary process', abandoning the Hippocratic and classical heritage.
